Russia Part 1

Our next stop was at St Nicholas Cathedral, known locally as the Sailors' Cathedral. It was one of a very few cathedrals in the city that were not closed in Soviet times. It is an impressive example of Baroque architecture and can't be missed with its golden cupolas and spires reaching into the sky above the surrounding buildings.
